Installation lighting. Light is a prominent element in [jʊŋ][bluːd]’s work. It validates, it insinuates, it highlights. Light can change the mood so drastically; turning something meaningless into something mesmerizing. [jʊŋ][bluːd] is not a great advocate for lamps, unless the lamp becomes the room. For the artist, they are inconvenient dust collectors, often produced too cheap for the importance and effect they have. Installation lighting, as she names her own lighting objects, create eye-catchers, bring balance into space and enhance existing qualities of an environment. Her installation lighting works are often inspired by the space and existing materials often composed in an unconventional manner.
